Paris in the spring. We drove from home to our hotel in Paris just a few steps away from the Arc de Triumph, what a view it was. The weather was mostly kind to us just one wet day. Race day was sunny and a little too hot, it was a fantastic day. When I run a marathon with Chloe I have to take fluids, food and some of her medication because of the length of time we will be running, so this adds time to our overall time and it can be as much as half an hour, I don’t mind as I know Chloe is ok for all her needs. Chloe as usual responded to the crowds and being outdoors with her dad, she loved every minute of it. We loved the course, a few ups and downs especially near the Seine, but I managed them, I was very surprised at all the food and water stations, it was like a buffet, cakes, fruit, sweets, absolutely fantastic, and I needed them to keep me going. Quite a number of guests at the hotel were also running the marathon and it was great to be able to chat to fellow runners. There was talk about all of us meeting up for next year’s Paris marathon, would love to do it again, but not sure how that will fit into our schedule for 2026, which is already filling up fast.
